You buy your Transit Log at the Harbour Masters office, at your port of entry, into Turkey. The boat can only be sailed, if the owner is on board. You can import parts for your boat, into Turkey, tax free. But you have to show them when you leave Turkish waters.
There are less regulations for a foreign flagged vessel, than there are for a Turkish vessel.
You would be well advised to speak to a yacht broker on your next visit to Turkey.

Hi again folks, still looking for a boat. We are not in the league of you guys though! Looking at a small fibreglass boat c 3.9 metres, already with stamped papers with a 9.9 hp outboard engine. We just want it to fish around the bay and maybe go to Akbuk/Mavisher or Rabbit Island for a barbecue. Presumably we still need license? What type do we need? What is the easiest, most cost effective way of getting one? What are the tax/cost implications on an annual basis? The boat broker we have seen her at is offereing to bring her to the sea whenever we are here and take her out of the water for the winter when she can be serviced and stored for us with his company. Also offered a two year guarentee. Any thoughts negative and positive greatfully received. Thanks again.
