i have recently heard that you no longer need a boat licence, obviously depending on size i think its about 24ft max could anybody confirm this as it is a new rule but i need to know how much you have to pay for the size of the motor you have in it ive heard there is a yearly payment depending on the size of the motor

The rules have changed for the payment of the yearly tax.
You didn't used to have to pay any tax if your engine was less than 10hp but now you have to pay whatever the engine size if your boat is over 5 metres.
Between 5 and 9 metres you pay 200 ytl a year.

But as far as hubby knows ( he's a Turk and a sailor ) you still need a licence for any boat with an engine.
