I remember the first time we went to Altinkum, stayed at the Altinersan, beautiful sunny sky, everything so colourful, and the feeling of being somewhere so different. Standing on the hotel balcony that first morning, will never forget it! Having breakfast on the hotel terrace and the cool freshness of the air early in the morning! That is what I think of.

:o  Derrick, I would have thought that after you visited all the bars mentioned in a previous post, you would have enough antifreeze in your veins to last another year.

We are very sociable up north, the number of great conversations I have had with strangers at bus stops! Alongside the tropical climate, it is one of the great benefits of living on Tyneside and Wearside! But in my case it did mean I could not settle anywhere else, it just got too lonely. I don't mean having a circle of close friends or family, it is more the atmosphere when you are out and about, in the pub, cafe, shop or whatever. Some people I know from the south can find the friendliness even a bit over the top but I wouldn't have it any different ...
